Teks Report

 Teks Report adalah teks yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan sesuatu secara umum, yaitu meliputi berbagai benda yang ada di alam, hal/benda buatan manusia, dan fenomena social yang terjadi di sekitar kita. Teks Report berisi serangkaian fakta yang logis tanpa ada keterlibatan pribadi penulis. Teks has a social function to describe something in general, for example: Jellyfish in general, Rose in general.

Report text dan Descriptive text memiliki kesamaan yaitu menjelaskan sesuatu(describe something), perbedaanya adalah Teks report menjelaskan sesuatu secara umum sedangkan Teks Descriptive menjelaskan sesuatu secara khusus. Teks report berisi serangkaian fakta yang didasarkan pada suatu penelitian/research secara ilmiah dan hasilnya dipaparkan kepada khalayak umum.

Jellyfish

Generic structure:

1.   General classification

Pengantar tentang sesuatu/fenomena yang akan dibahas.

2.   Description

Menerangkan sesuatu/fenomena yang dibahas, meliputi bagian-bagian, kualitas, dan perilaku.

Ciri-ciri kebahasaan(language features)

-      Menggunakan simple present tense kecuali apabila yang dibahas sudah punah menggunakan past tense.

-      Menggunakan action verbs (Kata kerja tindakan)

Contoh Teks Report

Jellyfish

Jellyfish are not really fish. They are invertebrate animals. This means that unlike fish or people, they have no backbones. In fact, they have no bones at all.

    Jellyfish have stomachs and mouths, but no heads. They have nervous system for sensing the world around them, but no brains. They are made almost entirely of water, which is why you can look through them.

    Some Jellyfish can glow in darkness by making their own light. The light is made by chemical reaction inside the Jellyfish. Scientis believe Jellyfish glow for several reasons. For example, they may glow to scare away predators or to attrack animals they like to eat.

    Most Jellyfish live in salt water, apart from a few types that live in fresh water. Jellyfish are found in oceans and seas all over the world. They live in warm, tropical seas and in icy waters near the North and South poles.

Narrative Text

 

Senang sekali akhirnya saya dapat posting mengenai artikel yang berkaitan dengan pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris untuk siswa SMP/MTs yaitu Narrative text. Teks ini merupakan satu dari beberapa jenis teks(Genre) Bahasa Inggris yang diajarkan di SMP/MTs ataupun di SMA/MA. Sebelumnya penulis di blog Bahasa Inggris anak posting materi pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris di tingkat sekolah dasar. Namun kali ini penulis juga ingin sharing materi Bahasa Inggris untuk murid penulis yang di MTs. MTs Darul Hikmah Subah.

Sebelum membahas panjang lebar mengenai teks narrative, marilah kita memahami pengertian dari Sebuah teks Narrative itu sendiri. Narrative text adalah sebuah teks imaginatif baik fiksi maupun non fiksi yang bertujuan menghibur pembaca atau pendengar. Teks ini berupa cerita fiksi, cerita non-fiksi, dongeng(fairy tales), cerita rakyat(folktales), cerita binatang(fable), legenda(legends), mitos(myths) dan sebagainya.  Contoh teks narrative di dalam negeri seperti Cerita Malin Kundang, Rawa Pening, Legenda Danau Toba, Kancil dll. Contoh teks narrative dari luar negeri seperti Cinderella, Snow White, Prince Frog dll. Cerita narrative bisa juga berupa cerita non fiksi seperti kisah hidup atau pengalaman seseorang yang memiliki konflik yang diakhiri solusi. Cerita narrative teks memiliki ending baik happy ending maupun bad/sad ending.

Contoh Cerita tentang Narrative Text

Cerita teks narrative hampir sama dengan teks recount namun teks narrative memiliki problematika yang berakhir dengan resolusi. Teks recount lebih menekankan pada rangkaian peristiwa-peristiwa yang terjadi di masa lampau. Teks narrative memiliki susuan atau generic structure yang menjadi ciri khasnya. Secara umum teks ini memiliki struktur sebagai berikut:

Orientation:

Membahas tentang pengenalan tokoh, tempat dan waktu terjadinya cerita.

Complication:

Di bagian ini terdapat permasalahan atau konfilik yang terjadi di dalam cerita.

Resolution:

Berisi penyelesaian terhadap masalah yang terjadi.

Terkadang di dalam suatu teks narrative memiliki struktur tambahan seperti Evaluation dan Reorientation. Evaluation berisi tentang suatu evaluasi terhadap jalanya cerita yang berlangsung sedangkan reorientation merupakan kesimpulan akhir dari cerita.

Ketika mempelajari jenis teks ini kita akan dihadapkan pada tenses atau bentuk waktu Past tense yang meliputi: Simple past tense, Past continuous tense, dan past perfect tense. Untuk pembelajaran narrative di SMP/MTs tenses lebih difokuskan pada simple past dan past continuous. Mempelajari tenses satu paket dengan materi teks narratif.

THE LONELY LANDY STORY

One day, there was a porcupine named Landy. He was lonely. No one wanted to play with him, because they wereafraid of his spikes.

            “ Dear Landy. We don’t want to play with you because your spikes are too sharp. We don’t want you to hurt us,”said Cici the rabbit one day.

            “ Cici is right, Landy. It is not because uou are bad or rude to us, no, Landy. Just because of your spikes. They will stab us if we ar close to you,”. Said Tito the rooster.

            Landy felt lonely. Landy spent most of the time daydreaming at the river bank, “ I would be happy if there were no spikes on my body.”

            Suddenly, kuku the turtle appeared from the river. He came to Landy and said, “ Landy, what are you thinking of?”

            Oh nothing,” Landy replied

            “ don’t lie to me. Landy! Who knows I can help you,” said Kuku wisely. Then he sat beside Landy. He was not afraid of Landy spikes.

            Shortly, Landy told hs problem. Kuku nodded his head. He said “ por you. But isn’t your fault. I know, your spikes are very useful and helpful for you. They will realize it someday. Trust me!”

            “Thanks. Kuku. You are my best friend”

            One day Koko the frog held his bhirthday party. He invited all his friend, including  Landy. But he decide not to come. He didn’t want to mees up the perty.

            “ I will come with you andy. I’ll tell everyone that you’re harmless” said Kuku. Finally Landy attented the perty. Everyone enjoyed it.

Suddenly Tito screamed, “ help….help….!the evl wolf is coming. Save yoursel!f,” then everyone saved their lives,xcepy Kuku and Landy. Kuku pulled his head and his leg into his shell. And Landy rolled his body into a ball.

Unintentionally, they evil wolf thouced Landy. Of course, the spike pricked him. He screamed, “ouch!”. Since his foot was bleeding, he didn’t chese Landy’s.

            “horray….horray…! long live Landy! He savd our lives,” said Cici and her friend. They thanked im from then on. Landy was not lonely anymore.
